As an illustrator, I began my career skills in visual arts. A thoroughly studied traditional painting, drawing, design and color theory, what you need the edge to stand out among the talented illustrators in the industry. Many artists today still offer traditional paintings or drawings, but they are quickly replaced by the high-tech coatings and computer 3D modeling.
The studies also illustrate the CG you can find ways to simulate the hand or create watercolors and more realistic images. After learning 3D modeling and animation, I went to undergraduate courses for a degree in architecture and to make working for a manufacturer. Here I learned the technical skills of drawing and construction methods. This is very important to read to understand the construction process and the terminology to be able to plan and communicate with architects, builders and brokers.
After working for architects and developers for several years, I opened my own independent design studio. This entry-level jobs provided me with practical experience in dealing with city officials, brokers, young, talented designers and developers on the site. To be able to communicate and understand the needs of these professionals was the key to a priceless skill to learn what was needed to open my own studio.
I am now in a position to meet the needs of other professionals for most of my computer, then only on the part of the employment or to certain customers visit very specific projects or more detailed high. One of the most important skills I have learned outside of school, was the ability to communicate the benefits of this architectural illustrations to do for others to gain the interest of customers. Students can often only on the details of their work by refining their artistic skills and technology, and this can easily distracted from the networking that is extremely important to attract customers.
It is incredibly difficult to find work if you can not communicate and sell themselves for working adults who need your services. For it is a technical subject, any interested person to have to learn to pursue a career to others, what they communicate have to offer. architectural illustrators must give their customers know how these skills they can do more to make money and increase your sales.
In addition, the expansion of sustainable development and “green construction” is another important market in search of 3D models created to explain how the new technology by renderings and animations. Various industries in related areas are also looking for the skills of 3D modelers and technical illustrators for furniture, medical and design of retail products.
Overall, the presentation of the architecture is a very valuable asset for the industry. It is a niche include, but responds to a specific request by a progressive industry, which is less marks on the environment. Regardless of the economy is good or bad, the visualization of a project promotes better communication, more efficiency and less waste in the construction process. It is valuable for building “green” and more importantly, on survival in a tough economy.
